Northend United 3 St Patricks 2 Saturday 18th April 2026

St. Patrick's began the game on the front foot, applying early pressure and creating a number of chances. Both sides had opportunities in the opening stages, but it was St. Patrick's who struck first, taking the lead with a well-placed free kick.

Following a few tactical changes, Northend grew into the game and found more space. Their equaliser came in spectacular fashion, as Ollie O'Kane scored from a free kick taken near the halfway line, catching the goalkeeper off guard.

Northend continued to push forward and soon took the lead, with Tadhg McCann finishing well after being set up by C. McGarry.

With just two minutes remaining, St. Patrick's responded and brought the score level at 2-2, setting up a tense finish.

Late substitutions saw Liam Liddy and Conor McGarry introduced to help see out the game.

As St. Patrick's committed players forward in search of a winner, the ball fell to Blaise O'Neil, who cleared it to McGarry, a quick break followed, with Liddy timing his run perfectly to beat the offside trap and calmly slot home the winning goal in the dying seconds. Full time 3-2

Northend United 3 Grove United 2 Friday 10th April 2026

Northend United came away with a deserved victory in extremely difficult conditions, overcoming Grove United 3-2 in a hard-fought and physical encounter.

It was Grove who started the brighter of the two sides and opened the scoring with a simple finish, capitalising on Northend's slow start. However, Northend responded well, showing resilience and determination. Their efforts were rewarded when Tadgh McCann found the equaliser, bringing his side back into the game.

With momentum building, Northend continued to press and soon took the lead. Ruairi "Rocket" Walker showed composure in front of goal, coolly slotting home to make it 2-1 Half time 2-1

The second half began much like the first ended, with Northend on the front foot and pushing for a third. A well-worked passage of play involving McGarry and Liddy led to a corner. Liddy's delivery to the near post was met by McCann, who rose highest to power in his second goal of the game and extend Northend's lead.

Grove pulled one back from a free-kick to set up a tense finish, but Northend remained disciplined and organised at the back. They defended resolutely in the closing stages, shutting up shop effectively and denying Grove any chance of an equaliser.

In what can only be described as some of the worst conditions the team has ever played in, Northend showed great character to battle through and secure all three points. Full time 3-2

Northend United 2 Tullycarnet 2 Saturdday 21st Marxh 2026

Northend United started the game on the front foot, dominating possession early on and creating several chances, but they were unable to find the breakthrough.

Against the run of play, Tullycarnet took the lead with their first shot of the match. Northend responded immediately, pressing high and equalising within minutes. Their pressure continued to build, and shortly after they found a second goal to turn the game around.

Despite Northend’s control, Tullycarnet struck again with only their second effort on goal, bringing the game level at 2–2.

The match finished as a draw, though Northend were widely seen as the more dominant side throughout. Great pressing from Tadhg McCann to grab his goal, 2nd goal came from Ruairi Walker. Full time 2-2

Northend United 1 SOPFC Swifts 3 Friday13th March 2026

St. Oliver Plunkets started strongly and took the lead early on, pushing Northend back into their own half for much of the first period. Northend struggled to deal with Plunkets’ first touch and were forced to clear their lines repeatedly as the pressure continued.

Plunkets doubled their advantage before the break to put themselves firmly in control heading into half-time. Half time 0-2

A few changes at the interval gave Northend a renewed sense of energy, and Jaxon Adams pulled a goal back to give them hope. Northend pushed forward in search of an equaliser and were unlucky not to find one, hitting the woodwork four times during a strong spell of pressure.

However, committing players forward and playing a high line left them exposed late on, and St. Oliver Plunkets capitalised in the dying minutes to seal a 3–1 victory. Full time 1-3

Northend United 3 Greenisland Jets 5 Friday 6th March 2026

Greenisland put Northend under pressure from the very first whistle and took the lead within three minutes. Northend responded well, quickly finding an equaliser to make it 1–1.

Greenisland went ahead gain, but Northend once more fought back to level the score. The visitors then grabbed a third goal, only for Northend to make it 3–3 in what was an exciting first half. Half time 3-3

In the second half, however, Greenisland dominated proceedings. Their confidence showed as they added two more goals to take control of the game and secure a 5–3 victory.

Northend’s goalkeeper produced several excellent saves, and without his efforts the final scoreline could have been even higher. Full time 3-5

Northend’s 10 game unbeaten run continues with a draw. The game began cautiously, with both sides feeling each other out in the early stages. Neither team was able to gain the upper hand before the break, as the sides went in level at half-time. Half time 0-0

Chances came at both ends, but the goalkeepers were in outstanding form throughout. Each side could have found the net, only to be denied by a series of fantastic saves that kept the scoreboard untouched.

Tadgh McCann thought he had finally broken the deadlock, but his effort was ruled out for offside. Full time 0-0

Player of the Match: William Porter – Calm, composed, and commanding from the very start, he controlled proceedings and delivered a dominant performance.

Northend delivered a commanding performance, running out convincing 3–0 winners over St. Patrick’s. From the opening whistle, Northend set the tempo, pressing aggressively and asserting control across the pitch. Their early dominance paid off when Conor McGarry rose highest in the box to power home a superb header from an Oisin Goodall corner, giving the hosts a deserved 1–0 lead. Northend’s solid defensive display ensured St. Patrick’s struggled to create any meaningful chances, and the home side went into the break firmly in control. Half time 1-0

The second half followed a similar pattern, with Northend continuing to apply pressure. Once again, Oisin Goodall’s pinpoint delivery from a corner caused problems, and this time Jaxon Adams found the back of the net to double the advantage.

With confidence flowing, Northend put the result beyond doubt when Tadhg McCann added a third, sealing an impressive team performance and ensuring all three points stayed with Northend. Full time 3-0

Northend United 4 Andersonstown Hawks 0 Friday 13th February 2026

Northend United 2016s delivered an outstanding performance to secure a convincing 4–0 victory over Andersonstown Community FC.

From the first whistle, Northend applied relentless pressure, forcing Andersonstown deeper and deeper into their own half. Liam Liddy came close to opening the scoring early on with a thunderous strike that rattled the woodwork. Conor McGarry also struck the frame of the goal with a superb free kick, signalling Northend’s intent.

It wasn’t long before the breakthrough arrived. Conor McGarry stepped up once again and this time made no mistake, superbly placing his free kick into the net to give Northend a deserved 1–0 lead at the break.

In the second half, the introduction of Oisin Goodall and Tadhg McCann added even more energy to the Northend attack. Goodall looked certain to score on two occasions, only for the Andersonstown goalkeeper to make excellent saves.

Tadhg McCann’s tireless pressing paid off in spectacular fashion. His determination was rewarded not once, but three times, as he clinically finished to complete a brilliant hat-trick and put the game beyond doubt.

Northend’s defence stood firm throughout, proving too strong for Andersonstown and ensuring a well-earned clean sheet. Full time 4-0

Northend United 1 Knockbreda 0 Saturday 7th February 2026

Both sides started evenly, with the opening ten minutes seeing little to separate them. Knockbreda played a very centralised game, but Northend were quick to recognise the space out wide — and it was from the wings that the breakthrough came. Ruairi Walker finished calmly, slotting the ball into the corner to give Northend the lead.

Northend nearly doubled their advantage through Oisin Goodall for him to see the ball missing by inches, Oisin Goodall looked hungry and, just before the break he beat the offside trap and went through one-on-one with the keeper, only for the referee to blow for half-time before the chance could be taken.

Knockbreda came out stronger in the second half, but again struggled to cope with Northend’s width. Liam Liddy, Ruairi Walker and Christian Holba dominated the midfield, controlling the tempo and breaking up play. Jaxon Adams unleashed a wonder strike that narrowly drifted wide, while Walker came agonisingly close to a second goal with a thunderous effort that missed by inches.

It was an outstanding team performance, with Northend playing some excellent football throughout. Full time 1-0

Player of the Match: Blaise O’Neill — absolutely nothing got past him, and his vision and composure on the ball were a joy to watch.

It was a cagey opening 10 minutes with both sides settling into the game and a few early errors creeping in. The breakthrough came when Ollie O’Kane reacted quickest to tap home from a corner, giving Northend the lead.

Northend soon doubled their advantage, with Conor McGarry finding the net after sustained pressure. That momentum continued as Northend pressed high and were rewarded with two more goals — Christian Holba and Tadhg McCann both getting on the scoresheet to make it 4–0.

To their credit, Greencastle never gave up and fought hard to the end, grabbing two late goals to reduce the deficit.Full time 4-2

Northend United 3 Larne Youth 2 Friday 23rd January 2026

Northend edged a hard-fought encounter on a cold and blustery evening, eventually running out 3–2 winners after a slow start to the game.

Despite the conditions, Northend looked the stronger of the two sides early on and made the breakthrough after 15 minutes. Conor McGarry opened the scoring with a well-struck free kick. Northend doubled their lead soon after, with a superb passing move seeing Christian Holba set up McGarry to grab his second of the night.

Larne responded well and pulled one back with a fine finish before levelling the match from a contentious free kick. The game opened up in the closing stages, with Ruairi Walker, Liam Liddy, Jaxon Adams and Christian Holba all going close for Northend.

The decisive moment came five minutes from time when McGarry reacted quickly to release Ruairi Walker from a throw-in, allowing him to race through and finish calmly to seal the win. Full time 3-2

Northend United 4 Grove United 3 Saturday17th January 2026

Northend United put Grove United under pressure from the opening whistle and nearly took an early lead when Ruairi Walker hit the side netting twice. The breakthrough soon followed, with Walker producing a fine finish to open the scoring.

Grove responded well and, after growing into the game, found an equaliser. With the wind in their sails, they then turned the match around to lead 2–1.

Northend hit back from a set piece, as Conor McGarry tapped in from a corner to level the score at 2–2. McGarry struck again soon after, rising highest from another corner to power home a bullet header and restore Northend’s advantage at 3–2.

The decisive moment came when Tadhg McCann spotted Liam Liddy free on the edge of the area. Liddy met the pass on the half-volley from 25 yards, catching it sweetly to fire Northend into a 4–2 lead.

Grove United continued to battle and pulled a goal back late on, but Northend held firm to secure a hard-fought 4–3 victory. Full time 4-3
