Northend United vrs Camlough Rovers   Saturday 20th October 2018

Saturday saw the United side play Camlough Rovers in the early ko in Lisburn. Starting with the impressive Andrezej Smolinski in nets, a back three of Reuben Skelly after his debut last week Jamie Gregg and Ryan O'Boyle, midfield of Charlie McCudden, Jack Patterson and Ryan McClintock with Aodhán McGarry and Kevin McGillian upfront the players were all set to go.
Both sides cancelled each other out in the early stages with the ever reliable Smolinski on hand to stop any chances.  The defence was being well marshalled by Gregg allowing Ryan O'Boyle and Reuben Skelly to play from the back. Jack Patterson was very impressive in midfield allowing Charlie McCudden and Ryan McClintock to attack on the wings feeding the ball through to McGarry and McGillian.

After the half time team talk and a few changes Sam Rogalski was brought on for the injured McGarry allowing Patterson to push up front with McGillian allowing Northend to come out and pressure the Camlough defence. The pressure created chances with all-out attack. The hardworking Charlie McCudden was replaced by Barti Pluta who took over the job of pressuring Camlough
The game had everything with goals, saves and fast flowing football allowing supporters to go home happy.

Northend United vrs Dromara Village    Saturday 22nd September 2018

Saturday saw the United sided play their third game of the new season in Lisburn. This week they got paired up against Dromara Village on the 3G at Belvoir Belfast. After a slow start, the first real opportunity for Northend came when Charlie played through Kevin only for his shot to be saved by the keeper. This seem to spur Dromara on but found the defence of Jamie, Jack and Danny hard to beat and if they did, the ever reliable Andrezej was on hand. Both Aodhán and Ryan worked hard on the wings but found themselves helping the defence as Dromara pressed. The only goal of the first half came from a dangerous corner swung in and indecisiveness in the defence allowed the Dromara player to rattle in the ball to the roof of the net. Half time 0-1

After the half time team talk Northend came out and pressured Dromara and it wasn't long when a great pass allowed Barti to run through one on one with the keeper to finish brilliantly. Again, Dromara came back and a long shot seemed to catch out Andrezej in nets. But this didn't stop the boys, after a throw in by Jamie in the corner, Sam was able to find space before riffling the ball into the roof of the net. The game finished 2-2 which was a great advertisement for football with both teams playing some attractive football, playing out from the back with end to end action.

Man of the match: Team Performance for the work rate in the second half

Panel: Andrezej Smolinski, Ryan O'Boyle, Aodhán McGarry, Danny Hector, Samuel Rogalski, Kevin McGillian, Jamie Gregg, Charlie McCudden, Jack Patterson, Barti Pluta
