Northend United 1 St Marys 3   Saturday 18th October 2025

The Blues started on the front foot and opened the scoring through Cahir McAllister. However, St Marys went on to score 3 times before half time, with their striker getting a hat-trick. Half time 1-3

Into the second half and with no further goals, the match ended 1-3

Northend United 1 St Malachy’s 4   Saturday 27th September 2025

This was Northend’s first outing of the season following a no-show from their opponents in Larne last weekend.

It was a new look 2014’s with Daniel McQuillan, Cael Hunter and Daniel Bowyer making their competitive Northend debut. Congratulations boys!!

Northend were hampered pre match with the loss of Captain Caolan Logan through illness and Jamie Butler recovering from a broken wrist and although the game ended in a three goal defeat this is far from the tale of the tape.

Throughout Northend created numerous chances through a combination of hard work and intricate passing and were unlucky not to be in front early on with efforts from Kacper Wesolek, Eoin Walker and the flying Cahir McAllister narrowly missing the target.

Northend were bossing proceedings with a solid defensive unit of Danny McCann between the sticks along with the experienced duo of Maximilian Kulak and Owen Elliot.

Despite the good start Northend were hit with a quick-fire sucker punch with literally their first two attacks, St Malachy’s found the net.

Undeterred the boys knuckled down and following a mazy run from the twinkle toed McAllister he was upended in the box.

Unfortunately his effort narrowly missed the target…it was beginning to feel like one of those days!

Finally Northend were rewarded for their efforts when a corner from McAllister was met by Elliot with an unorthodox, but effective, kneed effort to half the deficit. Half time 1-2

The second period got off to a scrappy start, not helped by the wet and windy conditions, but Northend continued to chase the game with McAllister pulling the strings, ably assisted by willing runners Wesolek, McQuillan and Walker.

Northend continued to create chances and tested the St Malachy’s keeper several times but found their efforts repelled.

Time was ticking for Northend and in their push to find an equaliser they were once again punished heavily on the break with another brace of goals.

To their credit Northend continued on the front foot to the final whistle and were very unlucky not to register with both Oisin Logan and McAllister on a couple of occasions coming close.

This was not the result the boys were looking for, however, there are many positives to take from the game.

Throughout the boys fought hard for each other and on another day, with the number of chances created and a greater slice of luck, the score line would have been much different. Full time 1-4
