Chimney Corner 0 Northend Youth 0 Saturday 13th April 2019
The Under 12s played out an entertaining 0-0 draw with cup finalists Chimney Corner. With a few players unavailable the game kicked off with a very different setup. The first chance of the game went to the Corner boy's but Stewart made an excellent save to deny them. Striker Kaczmarek then went close with an angled shot before McKay and Eddie Smyth went close with dipping free kicks. The Northend defence of Jamie Boyd, Seb Smyth and Jackson Greer were excellent all morning. Further opportunities from Chimney Corner were expertly dealt with. The game went in goalless at the break. Half time 0-0
Northend continued to push for the opener in the 2nd half and a well delivered corner was lashed off the crossbar from a Seb Smyth header. Eddie Smyth, Josh Magill and Michael Mongan were excellent in the middle of the park throughout. Michael O'Donnell was delivering excellent crosses into the box however both goalkeepers and defences came out on top.

Northend Youth 1 Lisburn Distillery 3 Saturday 6th April 2019
The blues got off to a slow start in this late kick-off finding themselves 2 down inside 4 minutes. A lack lustre first half saw them concede again from a superb free kick. The half-time team talk was tough with only Boyd escaping the wrath of the gaffers. Half time 0-2
A couple of positional switches added a little bite to the blues and 3 mins in Nellins long kick-out saw Kaczmarek get beyond the last defender to slot home. A good move involving Smyth and Stewart created another chance for Kaczmarek, but he was denied by a goal line clearance. The boys continued to push hard for the second goal but couldn't find a way through the Lisburn defence. A superb strike from a free kick sealed the win for the Lisburn boys.

Northend Youth 2 Tollymore Cubs 1 Saturday 30th March 2019
The youths responded brilliantly this week with an excellent performance where the scoreline should have been much greater. The wee blues started frantically with a succession of corners. Eddie Smyth had the best attempt with a header going agonising wide. Next up was Kaczmarek who failed to connect with an inswinging free kick. With a dominant attacking formation and the Tollymore defence camped inside their own half, Feargal McKay connected with a beautiful left foot drive which came crashing off the post with the keeper stranded. Northend continued to drive forward and the pressure was finally rewarded with Kaczmarek breaking free and unleashing a strike low into the Tollymore net. Michael O'Donnell was next to produce the next chance with a looping effort from outside the box which was expertly saved by the Tollymore net minder. Further efforts from Greer and Stewart went agonising wide before the excellent Kaczmarek doubled the lead with a strike which went in off the upright. Harry Livingston was next to hit the cross bar with a dipping free kick. Defensively Northend were excellent on the day with Nellins, Livingstone, Smyth and Donnelly not putting a foot wrong. Tollymore did get a consolation goal however an excellent performance was never in doubt. Stewart, Greer, McKay, O'Donnell and Smyths played possession football throughout with Kaczmarek's pace up front causing countless problems for Tollymore.

Banbridge Panthers 1 Northend Youth 0 Saturday 23rd March 2019
After a 3-week layoff due to the bad weather and missing 3 regulars the blues looked off the pace. In a slow paced first half neither team really threatened. Half time 0-0
The second half started much brighter with O'Donnell creating a few good chances down the left wing. Stewart who started in goal resumed his more familiar midfield role, his early influence created a couple of chances for Nellins' but the striker couldn't find the cutting edge.
A free kick awarded just outside the box was spectacularly finished to give The Panthers the edge. The blues pushed to get the equaliser but other than a late free from McKay that was turned over the crossbar it wasn't to be.
That hopefully is the rusty performance out of the system on a day when O'Donnell and Magill were the only stand out performers.

Northend Youth 1 Glenavy Youth 2 Saturday 2nd March 2019
The Blues went into this cup quarter final on the back of 7 wins in 8 games in 2019. The positive form continued as early pressure saw Kaczmarek denied on 2 occasions with only the keeper to beat. The absence of Eddie Smyth at centre back meant a reshuffle with Donnelly solid in the unfamiliar role. McKay, O'Donnell and Seb Smyth were seeing plenty of possession and creating chances. An early injury to Stewart meant a reshuffle with Kaczmarek moving to the middle of the park and Greer leading the line.
Greer's pace and trickery on the ball added a cutting edge to the attack but despite a number of opportunities the game was scoreless at the interval. Half time 0-0
The second half started at a blistering pace with the Blues creating early chances, a fine run by McKay took him past 2 men only to see his shot hit the side netting. A Kaczmarek thunder bolt was tipped over the bar, but seconds later a pass from Greer found Kaczmarek free in the box and he fired home from 5 yards. The Blues looked in control with Glenavy not threating Nellins in goal. A lapse of concentration in the last 5 minutes saw Glenavy equalise, further heartbreak was to follow as a free kick on the final whistle found the net. Full time 1-2
This was a game dominated by the blues but failure to capitalise on scoring opportunities was their downfall. Nellins was solid in goal when required, the back 3 of Livingstone, Donnelly and Boyd were rarely troubled. At the final whistle a disappointed group of players stood in the centre of the pitch knowing this one had got away.
