St James Swifts 5 Northend United 1 Saturday 27th November 2018
Northend are finding life difficult in the premier division this season but the scoreline was very harsh on them on Saturday. The first half was an even affair with Northend even shading it, only to go in a goal down at half time with the goal coming from the penalty spot. Half time 1 - 0
Northend took the game to their city opponents again second half and Robert McCluney playing at centre half ran the length of the pitch leaving players in his wake to finish superbly. Tails were now up and on another day, could have scored again, but as their luck is at the minute Northend conceded 2 more penalties, Connor Brennan in goal saving one, only to concede from the resulting phase of play. Another couple of late goals put an unfair look to the scoreline.
A good performance if not result will hopefully give the Ballymena boys confidence in the games ahead.

Northend United 0 Willowbank 6 Friday 19th October 2018
Northend again came up against strong opposition on Friday night and a referee who spoilt the game for both teams. In a quite even first 20 minutes of a hard-fought match the referee took over and sent off a player from each team, even though the Northend player was on the ground with 4 players on top of him. Willowbank coped better with 10 men and scored a couple of quick goals. Half time 0 - 2
Northend never let their heads drop and played some really good football in parts. The ref then sent off another Northend player for asking a question. The home team were mystified now and conceded 4 more goals to give scoreline a flattering look. Near the end Willowbank had a man sent off to even up the numbers.
The boys to their credit never gave up against a physical team and will dust themselves down and go again next week

Lisburn Distillery 4 Northend United 1 Saturday 13th October 2018
Northend found a Distillery team in great form on Saturday but made them fight the whole way through the game. Northend played some really good football in the first half but had no answer to the strong running and goals first half. Half time 2-0
Northend came out second half relishing the challenge and pulled a goal back from a Robert McCluney free kick, taking a deflection off Aaron Campbell and into the bottom corner. A couple of late Distillery goals gave the scoreline a flattering look but a good encouraging performance by Northend against one of the top teams in this top division.

Northend United 0 Ashton Gate 1 Saturday 6th october 2018
Northend started their league campaign with a narrow defeat against a strong Ashton Gate. In a first half when Northend really never got going, it was Ashton who took the lead midway through. Half time 0-1
Northend rallied second half and should have equalised on a couple of occasions but for some bad finishing and good goalkeeping. A good marker for the boys to see how tough this season will be.

Northend United 7 Aquinas 0 Saturday 29th September 2018
Northend U18s made it to their second final in two seasons after a convincing win over Belfast based side, Aquinas.
After an even first 15 minutes Northend opened the scoring from an Aaron Campbell penalty, and by the break it was four, with 2 goals from Conall Gordon and a Robert McCluney screamer from 25 yards. Half time 4 - 0
Northend really playing well now, extended the scoring when Chad Shaw ran from the half way line to dispatch the ball past the Aquinas keeper. Conall Gordon rounded of a fabulous personal performance by getting his hat trick and Kieran O'Boyle got a goal his hard work deserved to send the Ballymena boys into the final.
A real boost for the boys so early in the season.

Comber Rec 1 Northend United 0 Saturday 8th September 2018
After a successful season last year Northend began life in the u19 section with a narrow defeat. Northend played by far the better football early on but it was Comber who scored the all-important goal midway through the first half. Half time 1-0
The Ballymena boys played some great football in both halves but couldn't break down a packed and stubborn Comber defence. A really pleasing performance from the boys if not the result they wanted but things look good for the challenging season ahead. Full time 1-0
